Disappearing Ads |

I've put up an add in 3 different areas twice now - once late last week and once yesterday. In both cases, all ads have disappeared from the listing and my account by the following day!
any ideas why? |

Clippo, advets are only removed for good reason, which may be included in those following:
1) Weak vagua adverts 'wanted free fish' etc.
2) Adverts for 'wanted' may seem to be deleted, but actually only moved into the wanted section.
3) Duplicate ads, you may have already listed it. The search engine Google dislikes duplicate content (pages that have the same content) and often damages websites that allow this giving them a lower rating in search engine result. So, duplicate ads are deleted.
4) Recycled ads - the most common reason - when advertisers keep adding the advert again and again to stay at the top.
5) Spamming the listings. Some keep on adding new adverts often, flooding this free service, thereby diluting the quality of the listings.
6) Irrelevant ads for non-fishkeeping items.
These are some of the main reasons why ads are removed. |

could be because I posted the same message in 3 different areas then! Sorry!
I'll re-list one. Its to advertise my photogrpahy site - WWW.DIGITAL-REEFS.COM
Have put a link to this site on there - it attracts around 1000 visitors per month btw.
Thanks! |

I recall that advert, and the new one added today.
It (and your previous adverts) were deleted because all you are trying to do is promote your own website - which although understandable, is not the purpose of this website.
You could of course request a sponsorship arrangement where spaces are available ... |

that's really nice of you after I included a link to your site on my own (which generates around 1000 visits per month by the way). Frankly, I can't see why selling images is any different to selling livestock - its not a registered company or anything.... also, there are other similar services that haven't been removed.... what a load of *******s!

Good point. OK, please feel free to add an advert. We hope it helps your services, as you say, it is products for sale. It will have ot go in the retialers. section though.
Cheer up
PS: Gorgeous pictures on your site. |
