Visited lfs today and noticed these fantastic looking fish they are purple around 6 inches long and quarter inch thick i was really tempted as i am a huge fan of fire fish but was told they are huge jumpers i have open top i have looked on internet and cannot find a pic any where they were not cheap £48.00 each supposed to be reef safe according to owner and quiet hardy wondered if any chaps/lasses out there have had any success with them? |

I don't think it was a file fish as far as I am aware they are not difficult to keep but are sensitive to copper.
Here is a link worth looking at:

If it is the purple tilefish I'm thinking of its latin name is
Hoplolatilus purpureus
Picture isn't great on the website but it gives you an idea of what I am thinking. |
