good question john, wanting to know myself as the tanks i have just bought are drilled to take a sump. if i dont fit one then i can only fill my tank up to the drilled holes, about 3 inches from the top, not good |

hi john any 2/or3/ tank will do u really need to get your tank drilled or use a overflow box,but it gets all the equipment out of tank and can be filled with media with overflow weirs the choices r endless m.m dsb plus there is no need for externals |

They are pretty easy to make. Just buy a cheap tank & then silicone some glass dividers in place.
Heres double trickle tower one I made earlier

You can purchase bungs to temporarily seal these off so you can fill your tank properly |

hello again mc, i managed to get hold of 2 cistern bungs, 50p each they have done the job just nicely.
mc, do you know of a site that could give john and myself an easy diagram full of pictures, and a step by step of how to make a sump. cheers bud. |
