05-03-2006 19:40 by steve hodgkiss	Am thinking of upgrading my 130 ltr marine aquarium to 3-400 ltr and setting it up in the glass conservatory, what good or bad points does anyone know of setting up in such a location.

05-03-2006 20:22 by MC	Can confirm its a very bad move, having tried it myself. As johlakehouse says, uncontrollable algae, massive seasonal temp variations, difficult to keep cool in the summer, even harder to keep warm in the winter
06-03-2006 08:55 by SallyJo	Really not to be recommended Steve. We had problems in the dining room because of the sun shining directly on the tank. Agree it would look nice in your conservatory - but only until the algae took over and the fish started to die.
07-03-2006 21:48 by Jaydubs	I would disagree...My mother has an 100 gal in the conservatory without heat/cold issues and her corals go completely mad in summer. The answer is simple roller blinds fitted into hood which are used for mornings opened at 9am in summer (cuts out 5 hours). In very hot weather blinds are left down till 5pm. NB YOU NEED A CHILLER!!!!!
