if i were to use this filter with the trigon would it be a wise move as the more water cycling the less chance of desies ect

i have found the fluval fx5 a great filter on my 6x2x2. very quiet and efficient.

dont get caught out when it suddenly stops though - it does that regularly to dispell air caught in the filtration system, then re-starts itself. a great filter.

What sort of set up are we talking marine or freshwater.

Putting my hatred of fluvals aside the fact you would be using a filter capable of handling a far larger tank is not a problem equally the level of circulation is not a problem as long as the out put is tailored to the needs of the fish you intend to keep.

Basically what are you doing with the tank.
