Can you spot any faults with this design? The tank is under a low wall so I would like to build a kind of sump-in-a-box and use up the unused space.

I think the return pump should be lower in the sump as if this pump failed all the water above the outlet hole would drain into the sump & it will overflow.

The outlet hole needs to be quite high in the tank so as a minimum of water would flow into the sump in a power/equiptment breakdown.

Hope this has been some help. Try wetdryfilter.com for some ideas.

seems ok as to me as long as there is enough room in the sump to take the water above the outlet and make sure your outlet hole is large enough to overfeed your return pump
