hi all we are thinking off putting tanks in the shop to rent out to people to get them into fish keeping we will rent a tank to them and maybe at a extra cost check there tank for them now and again to see there doing okthey still pay for the fish plants ect just thinkin of ways to get more people into it what do u think about this because the inital cost can be off puttin ur views will help thanks andy |

Why not do an option to own? You charge the customer a rental fee but after an agreed time (and ammount) they own the tank? It would be like an interest free loan. You would need advice as to wording on a contract.

What happens when they dont pay you? It can get very messy!! at your cost too! What happens when they damage items, your spare stock holdimg would need to be high I think, i.e. broken heaters, fish die and customers blame you because the equipment failed!! INSURANCE COSTS!! Soz to be negative but I have my own business and believe me customers in general are great but there are those that make you wanna give in or just plain batter them!! On a positive, its great you wanna promote fish keeping. |

I thought about setting up a company like that renting out tanks with a price plan of service, but as pointed out the problems out way the profit by so much it was just a non starter for me. |
