maybe shedding light is the problem? what light have you got because i have had a lot of anemones and most end thier lives that way stringy stuff coming out of the middle and they generally lose colour and shrivel up . i used to keep mine under t5 and t8 now i have a halide (thanks to ed) mine is doing very well.

is Halide a must for Anemones?

well they say t5 +3 bulbs should be enough but you cannot beat a halide. most soft corals will be ok under t5s but they look a lot better under a halide
