i dont no much about buying fish from europe but what i do no is you must have a inport licence to bring fish into to uk from some diffrent countrys a mate of a mate brought about £200 of fish back from somewhere only to have them taken of him when he got back to england.

i think (not 100% sure) that you can move tropical fish within the EU without needing a licence...

you do need a licence. also the fish are very cheap but its all the import duty on top that can be up to 50.00 a box

no way. to many people say they have moba's or zaire fronts, and they end up being buries... and they cost so much more. to many people trying to be bandits in uk. seems there's fishboys aswell as cowboys

You don't need a licence within the EU

i think you only need licenses for "imports originating outside the EU and imports of coldwater species from other EU Member States including the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Northern Island"

thanks, i'll call them first thing

apparently for EU tropical fish, no license is required.

but for coldwater fish (which could escape into the waterways) you do need a license.

watched airport the other month and a fella was trying to get on the plane with some koi-carp, several of them at about 2 inches. the fella was told he could not board the plane with the fish and before they could say anything else to the fella he was off to the gents and flushed them down the loo. 2 remained in the base of the toilet, and as some members of the airline staff tried to rescue the remaining fish, another bloke flushed the toilet again and flushed the other 2 away. what a shame. I think they saved 1.

Why don't you buy your fish directly from an importer? There's one based in Telford that had Cyphotilapia Frontosa Mpwimbwe Blue @ 15.50 pounds each on their last stock list and several unusual species of Tropheus for approx 18.00 pounds each for quite large fish. They sell to anyone and post if you can't get there in person.
They are called Fishbiz and you can email them for their latest stock: Dave@chaplinassociates.co.uk
