Hi,male discus are usually bigger than females and sometimes develop a nuchal hump on the forehead and points to the dorsal and ventral fins when adult,younger fish can sometimes be sexed if the ovipositor is lowered,in the male it is pointed and flat for a female,but there is no really accurate way to sex them when young.
