Bought ours from local marine supplier. Make sure there's enough in the tank for them to feed on though. Sadly, ours died after three months. Beautiful fish, though. |

Mandarin fish feed on copepods from the live rock, they search the rock constantly for it, they are not the easiest marine fish to keep but they are beautiful looking fish |

To be succesful you need a way of making frozen food behave like live food get this right and you will quickly get them fat I managed it sadly I lost the fat little blighter when a tang pegged it under all of my rock work I had no way of getting it out carried out massive water changes and the skimmer was going nuts but I couldn't keep up with the unpleasant problem. |

Also ideally needs to be a live rock based system with no competition from fish such as pyjama wrasse. |

like small shrimps mandarins are not a good first fish and any specimen you buy needs to be carefully chosen. |
