Hi Mike again,
Keep replying in different topics...Nice markings on yours some larger areas of black than on mine, have you ever bred from them or have you not kept any pairs? |

never kept pairs got this one in a community tank so brreding not really an option but i would think that breeding will be a hard process as i think they are selective not prolific breeders(dont quote me though) |

Well i just picked up this pair and the guy said they're always laying eggs about 500 or so,now whether any pair would breed this well,or whether this pair have selected each other for life ,i don't know,i haven't bred anything myself(only had them a week),but they are aggressive like you said, especially when the eggs have laid the male will take my hand off(would'nt like to play with him then..... )so i could end up with loads of young here,if it actually does there'll be some free fish if anyone wants some!

hello paul. you have set me off reading about the jaguar cichlid and i have found them really interesting.have never really considered keeping american cichlids because of the size they can reach, but have seriously considered trying to get myself a pair of jaguars (cichlids), are they easy to find? cheers |

Hi Tony,
i got mine of the ads here,i have seen a few more advertised since then, just keep looking! They are playful until they lay eggs,i'm supposed to play with the male before i feed them,so far they are not attacking me for no reason.Good luck in your search!
