I had the same problem when the marine tank was new . its all part of the nitrogen cycle. and will clear up on its own. just clean it off the glass and keep up with the water changes. and be patient.

I found that my white lights were on too long and keeping the on time limited helped me out. Keep the whites on for about 5 hours a day now. |

Shorter light period will help with alge problem but your PH will start dropping down |

We are talking marine not freshwater with light dependent inverts do not shorten the photo period.
You problem will be excessive nutrients either organics nitrates or phosphates.
Things to do make sure the skimmer is set up correctly this will keep the organics under control.
Get some pumps to make sure the water is turned over at least 20 times an hour.
Use rowaphos or phosban as you say you already use this so I expect you have an organics and nitrate problem.
You will always get some algal growth it should never cover everything though.
If you are using externals or other non natural filtration methods this will be pushing your nitrate up go for natural live rock set up and nitrates should come down also how many grazers do you have is this algal growth down to a lack of grazers. |
