No if it lights the T5 tube it will not run properly as T5's are designed within the aquatic trade to run on an electronic ballast not the normal sort used with T8's this means you don't get the flickering. |

t8 s are now running of electronic ballasts now they have been for at least 5 years juwel lights for instance, but im not challanging alan s knowledge , just adding to it |

There are a few T8 electronic ballast knocking about far more as a result of the appearance of T5's but the majority are still of the normal ballast type its name escapes me. |
