hi,
i have approx. 40. they are £2.00 each, which i think is reasonable as they are £6.95 each in my lfs!
they breed easily & i shouldn't think it will be long before they start to breed, as the females are nearly the same size as the males. they are about 1.5" the biggest ones.you can always come & take a look ,no obligation lol.
let me know & i'll make sure i'm in lol. |

trickatech - have you just researched the species or gone further into the Malawi biotype.
Afra are great fish but dont expect to keep too many in the same tank, I male for 3 females min, unless you have a large tank.
At 1.5" it will be difficult to sex them so be prepared to get rid of any extra males.
Lisa is selling at a fair price

hi ray,
i am near cannock staffordshire, 5 mins from the gorgeous cannock chase!
you are welcome to come & take a look.
i find that the males, even small ones, have a blue sheen to them , whereas the females have a distinct yellow sheen down them. i have in my show tank 1 male & 2 females, & there is no aggression between them, although the male does like to think he is the boss of the tank lol. |

i have a great pair of afra. the males are very territorial for their size, often seeing off larger fish. make sure you have loads of rocky hidy holes.

i have them in a 5' mixed tank, with red zebras, scianerchromis fryeri, dolphins, hongi, labs, rusty, borleyi, protmelus, chilotilapia, & they all get on fine! abit of chasing like with all malawis, but never any damage done. i do believe in over stocking though which greatly helps with aggression. |
