Let us know how you get on with this stuff.
I'm currently trying the reduce sg method on my reef the corals hate it but it hasn't killed them they are just stressed. |

the treatment has totally destroyed all bacteria because i have not had to clean tank glass since it was added,i am still very worried about tank and expect to come home to dead fish every night.let this be a lesson not to buy fish from garden centres! |

Wont be using that then christ!
Get the skimmer on and carry out some water changes as quickly as possible and filter over carbon.
You are learning as I am unfortunately I did know better I'm just a stubborn mule that sometimes needs quite a hard kick in the teeth.
I'm currently setting up a quarantine tank for all of my fish so my reef can go fishless for 2 months in this time I will address the seriously injured corals some of which have died back as a result of the reduced salinity method.
Fortunately my DSB has been completely uneffected by the salinity drop. Same with the turbos and hermits urchin and starfish.
From now on all new stock will be quarantined and treated for parasitic problems whether they are evident or not. |
