will a uv filter reduce the amount of algea growning i no algea is because of nitrate or phos butmy nitrate is normal and phost is a tiny bit high .. i have a phost remover in and was jst wondering if a uv would help

yes it will help. is it for a pond?

in my koi pond we have one for a pond twice the size of ours. and we have an strong air pump witch also helps with reducing algea and blanket weed

uv are good for keeping algae away got one on my juwel 240 marine,(too good)my algae blenny is struggling to find any

It will help to kill free flowing algae spores, but will do nothing to the algae that is already growing. It can only kill what goes through it, also it will kill all the beneficial organisms that go through it as well. I would try to control the algae through natural means by getting a good stock of hermit crabs and snails. There is a dealer on ebay that sold me 20 crabs and 20 snails for £30 delivered next day.
