this is bigging to get bad again .. i have a trigon 350 wiv a nitrate removal pad.. i also have phostpahte remover and my nitrate is zero .. but i have brown algea growning on my non-live rock and on the glass .. i just do not understand it if the nitrate is zero and the phostphate is not at a level of concern wot is happening .. i have lost a sand anemone due to this. i have re-tested the nitrate jst incase of false readings but still comes back as zero

I'm by no means an expert but a read a similar post on a forum the other day and the Phosphate is low because the algea is using it to grow so the test reading is masked by this.

Have you got a clean up crew, I only have a small tank but have 20 small blue legs and 20 very small snails, they seem to keep the algae very low indeed.
