my tank has now gone through cycle and is running at
8.2 ph
25 salinity
0 ammonia
0 nitrate
0 nitrite
there a things popping up on rock work and im curoius to what they are
1, is liitle grren bubble shaped things a few of these on rocks
2 red/purple spiny looking stuff is this coraline
3 orange stumps
hope you guys can help me |

green bubble: type ov culerpa
red spiny: i think this is also culerpa
orange stump: possibly sponge |

caulerpa is good. it will mop up excess nutrients in the tank. it also provides food for fish. just make sure it doesn't get too out of control growth wise!
the purple/red things may possibly be forams. they are common on rock and cause no problems |

what are forams the purple thinhg are only smale and have a few spikes of them they are purply/pink colour wiilll these things get rid of some hair algae

1 check that the bubble thing isn't valonia if it is remove it by hand being careful not to let it burst.
2 and 3 sound like forms of sponge but it is virtually impossible to id without a photo.
have you checked your calcium levels? |

the bubble thing is only tiny as yet just a bit bigger than a pin head not tested calcium levels as yet only in early days gonna change salt mx to red sea coral pro as my lfs says calcium levels are excellent in it so i wont need any calcium reactor |
