JULIDOCHROMIS MARLERI PROBLEM |

my previously breeding female is now refusing the let any other Juli Martleri in her section of the tank with her. I have 2 other males and 1 female in a different set-up.
All 4 used to live happily together than one by one they got booted out of group until breeding female then booted out her own partner!
every 2-3 weeks i try putting a different Juli in with her but each time after 24 hours the new Juli in there is cowering behind the filters!!!
Really want to get them breeding again????
Should i get a different male from a shop and place him with her OR, move HER and place breeding male in there and buy a NEW FEMALE?????
Any thoughts??? |

I would make the tank totally bare, net her up then water change the tank, put all the Julies in together, and hopefully start again,I am suprised that the pair fell out though, probably because of the Brichardi. |

would try rearranging all your rocks/tank decor to disrupt her territory, good luck |

Had exactly the same problem and the advice above is bang on. Net the female out and completely rearrange the decor, introduce another small group and then your dominant female.I kept trying to introduce single males and she would tear them to shreds but the above method resulted in her taking another mate. Good luck and let us know what happens. |

Thanks for advice.
I will take the advice and let you know how it goes, if she ocntinues to take her hard line stance i may have to sell her on or swap her, but shes a beauty. |
