16-05-2006 20:48 by frozenball	hi all again i have just bought a hagen marina Aqua minder thermometer for my tank just one question the part that goes in the water is metal or the bottom of it is anyway . is this safe for a reef tank , i didnt want one of those things you stick on the outside of the glass i wanted somthing inside also my last buy will be a hydrometer , i have heard that these are not too accurate is it better to get a refractometer and are they easy enough to use just need my live rock now and im away thanks all
17-05-2006 09:33 by billysfc	Refractometers are as simple as you can get, you put some water over the plate at the end and look through it. Hydrometers are rubbish, my friends was 3 points out compaired to my ref.
