what filter is it ?
if its a canister filter with the outlet near the bottom give the conector a turn and tighten it up..i had this leaking with a eheime 2213 from new...
on my fluval 304 i have found its best to wet and stretch the rubber seal to get a good clean seal ....
sory i dont use the new big square eheime's so cant comment on them!

If I didn't sort it I think the fish would have been dead by morning. thanks again bud for the reply stress levels back to normal now!!! |

i would open the filter and make sure the seal is sitting nice ...i would check that no filter wool or the like are traped in rubber

It would be good to order in new O-rings for the connectors just as a back up, plus PTFE plumbers tape for the threads wouldnt go a miss. Had a similar problem with an Eheim - it came with spare connectors, I changed them over and problem solved |

Tony - as stevebrillo suggests, take the seal out, clean it, and rub some vaseline around it. Also use a cotton bud to clean the groove the seal sits in.

I did all that bud, but I used butter! didnt know about the vaseline at the time. what a scare it was, was more worried as thought the bacteria may have died off, but its cleared now and have done a water change. will e-mail you in a while as want some advice. cheers |
