Help, is it time to get rid of it before it dies and pollutes the tank, at the moment it still has a good hold of the rockwork. ??? |

Thanks, for your help, i'm sure it's dead.
I removed the rock it was on and a small bit fell off, then when I pulled it off the rock, the whole centre was slime.
It went down the toilet. |

ick nasty have you established the cause how long have you had it? |

Had it about 3 weeks. Poss never was healthy although it looked like it was when I bought it, when it finally stopped roaming the tank it stayed where it was under very heavy flow, and spent 1/4 of the time closed down, but after researching a little, people seem to say that some anemones like it quiet and others hectic. If it was the heavy flow, then it's my fault, but why didn't it move. It only moved on the last but one day and that's when I noticed it deteriorating.
Not sure if i'll bother with another one ever again, or if I ever do, I'll try to find a tank bred one where someone has had one split. |

How long did you spend aclimatising it, I failed with anemones in the past due to not allowing long enough for the nem to aclimatise. The only one I have been succesful with spent 3 hours aclimatising I still have it. |

Could be it, I expect I aclimatised it for about an hour and a half, I always check the salt levels of the dealers water so I can get a good idea of how long to spend mixing the bag water with the tank water. The levels in the dealers water were 1.026 and my tank runs at 1.025 so it didn't take a lot of swapping to get them the same. I only take an animal out of the bag and into the tank when the levels are the same.
I'm not going to bother with one again until I upgrade my tank in the future and only the if I think the tank is suitable for one. |
