RO water is great to drink, i live on the stuff, it tastes as sweet as spring water.

contrary to popular opinion, britta water may have a health risk - as bacteria build up around the filter medium.

RO units filter out bacteria, so all you get is pure fresh water

if you can remeber that "dasani" water that was complained about, that was london tap water pushed through an ro unit. i bought a gouple of palletes of it from the wholesaler who couldnt shift it and used it for water in my discus tank,

If you intend to use the RO unit for drinking water I would suggest buying all the gubbins for using it for drinking water properly this will avoid the risk of bacteria building up in the unit presenting a risk to the consumer. Yanton is correct that RO units will filter out bacteria but only the stuff that is in the mains supply bacteria will grow in the pipes and media after the membrane so keep if clean and change the media as the manufacturer recommends just to be on the safe side.
