discus are easy to keep as long as you dont get lazy with them and keep on top of the waste they produce and you will be fine i started mine in ro water now i just use tap water ive got 4 |

hello rockoo yes you can mix 80%-20% ro/tap where do you live? different areas of the country have different water! do you need ro or a hma filter? have you tested the parameters of your tap water? |

Match the water params to the ones of the place you buy them you're fine. Personally I wouldn't go for discus in your size tank as you ideally need 5-6 discus and your tank would be too small if they were adult size.
I keep 6 discus in a 260l tank with tap water, they're not all adults but I won't add to the group as I like to keep other fish with them and the set up IMO is very good.
If you go for discus all the best, they're not as difficult as they are often made out to be but it is heart breaking if you loose any! They are like puppies! |

Befor I changed to marine I had Discus and the best way of getting the correct water is to use a briter water filter. RO water can be used with tape but it depends on where you get your RO. Some RO can have a pH of as low as 5.2 so beware. I find marine alot easier than discuse, did'nt look foward to the 60% water change every week. |

To buy an RO unit or not very much depends on your tap water. Its that simple. Hence Afgrand ask if you have tested your tap water. |
