Cloudy water HELP!!! |

Just come back from 3 days away and the water in my tank is VERY cloudy. I hplaced a bag of phosphate remover in my external filter on Sunday (might this be the reason?) My wife says it went cloudy on Tuesday evening. Just checked the water - Ammonia - fine, nitrite - fine, Nitrate - c.20ppm (been like that for months, no matter what I use it doesn't change!), Phosphate - 0. All fish (2 clowns, 2 green chromis), pulsing Xenia and small anemone seem fine EXCEPT... my green bubble anemone has disappeared and there are suspicious bits of flesh floating around (remember Ammonia - tiny trace).
Any ideas??? |

Hi thanks for the reply.
My tank is a Tropiquarium 88 (c. 120ltr) with Biolife 55 filter (wet/dry) + External canister with carbon, noodles and sponge, fed back via a spray bar. Also 2 powerful heads. |

i think u need to find bubble anemone or wats left of it . in your canister filter put some more floss in it will help a bit and do a large water change say 30% but trickle the water in slowley as not to shock live stock. iv had a few bubble anemone that have done this to me and this is wat iv done. sorry about spelling i think faster than i type.

I reckon ur bubble has died, most anemones seem to release something in the water that clouds it up & will kill your fish if left unchecked. It may have got sucked into a powerhead or something? Good luck. |
