RO units are easily set-up and it should have instructions with it. If its made by RO-man go to there website for instructions on your unit.
Basics are: You need a cold water supply in, which to get you have to break into your cold water supply and 'T' off this. However upstairs in your bathroom may prove difficult as the water pressure may be to low. Each unit type has a specific minimum pressure required to get the water to flow through each filter stage. If you find the pressure to low you can install a pressure pump.
The output is in two ways, firstly the water you are after which u can collect in a container. The other output requires drilling into your waste pipe, the drill kit comes with the unit plus fittings. This is so you can back flush the filters clearing it of any debry build up and is very important ensuring the filters are working correctly.
Why cant u use the unit under your sink? I had the same issue and that was, my wife had the kitchen unit full of stuff! Solution!!! Moved her stuff out!! |

Just thought!!!
Its not essential to break into your waste pipe, u could just hang the pipe from the RO UNIT in the sink and back flush that way as a temporary measure.
Also if u have a 50 gallon per day unit and ya pressure is on the minimum required you will probably find that it will take 24hours just to get 15 gallons, these units are slow where pressure is concerned. Keep an eye on the performance stated, a 50 gallon per day unit!! actually may be 50 US gallons per day which I think is actually approx 33 gallons uk. That added with poor pressure would result in say only 10-15 gallons per day.
If ya understand any of that WOW! |

15 gallons in 24 hours aint much go for at least a 50 gallon per day unit or you will be waiting days to do a water change instead of hours. |

That was my point Alan!!!! If ya read what I put.
I have a 50 gallon a day and only get 15 because my water pressure is low. Unless you buy a seperate pump to improve the pressure you wont get 50!! My issue to george being it may be even lower in the bathroom! And also beware that you may buy 50 gallons a day unit but it is US gallons!! |
