and I have never seen this happen in either of my tanks before, but every now and again I've had fish disappear with no explanation, no remains and no mess.
Well I think I may have found out where they are getting to (see the picture below) |

Is it time he was moved out - with the female and put with others of a similar kind in their own tank.. if so, what else could I put them with - am looking for something that may breed.

He's eating an albino tiger barb...
I've found my new camera ( a kodak z7590) excellent for catching these sorts of quick impulse photos |

Hi Telboy,
I think we decided it was probably a Geophagus iporangensis rio propria. The original thread is http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/forum/viewtopic_3973.php
I've had no problems with htis fish before.. I wondered if he might be getting ready to breed.. any thought's anyone? |

god how did it get that in its mouth a full grown one is 1-2 inches from top to bottom?? was it a baby or just a small one |

It wasn't that young but was slightly smaller than some of the others.. strange thing is that I hav some similar sized normal teger barbs and they were left alone...
His mouth was at full stretch though |

if you like geophagus you could go for the geophagus steindachneri, or the tapajos red or orange gead, they dont get quite as big, that pic is quite funny |
