There are colour variants with pecula clowns it may simply be down to that. |

Dean you have failed to consider that in the past many tropical fish have been intensely bred to produce brighter colours it is equally possible the brighter clowns are the tank bred whilst the others are wild caught in factwild caught are pretty weak fish so it is quite possible the drab fish were wild caught. |

thats where i will differ with you i worked in a large aquatics shop for years and all the clowns that came in wild caught where much better colours and the duller more yellow ones always came from tmc !

depends weather they are Amphiprion percula or Amphiprion ocellaris ,the latter are the brightest ,and as alan says you get colour variants ,you get sub-speices which are ,for instance clowns that are caught 100 mile apart might have different markings and colours .if they look good get em , tmc clowns tend to be a bit wishy washy , and dont normally like anemones. |

ocellaris have darker orange and have more definded black out lining, ps i got some large hermets if you interested 2-2.5" for 4.99 each red/orange leg |
