Is it normal for fish with white spot to get black on their fins? All 4 of my fish are together in one tank now and just one has white spots on it, I am treating the tank every 48 hours with treatment but it doesn't seem to be going away and the edge of its tail fins look black! |

What are you treating it with have you removed all absorbtion resins from the tank?
Formalin malachite green and acriflavine are all effective. |

zeolite carbon stuff like that.
the King british remedy is called WSP I think I have used this before I think it is acriflavine judging by the colour off it when it hits the water it goes a sort of flourescent yellow. |

Some of the ends of the fins can become discoloured with the medication especially methylene blue, Potassium permanganate and Malachite.
More common when using dip treatments as the dosage is many times stronger than when treating a tank for prolonged periods.
Normally goes away after treatment and regeneration of tissue around the affected area. |

Powder remedies tend to be things like potassium permanganate this is a dip only remedy change as much water as you can immediately and then change the same amount again.
Use standard off the shelf remedies initially such as:
WSP
WS3
ESHA exit
Sera costopur
Its only when these fail that more potent means should be used and the ones above rarely fail. |
