I have gone everywhere, and no-one has heard of it in freshwater fish. It came on very quickly, and every fish is covered in hundreds of black spots, any clues anyone

28-06-2005 04:00 by Alan	A few questions: Are the fish wild caught and were they all obtained at the same time? Are you using water from a water butt? I have come across black spot myself and as I understand it the parasite cannot complete its life cycle in a closed environment as part of their life is spent in the gut of birds. I might be wrong of course but I had black spots on some of my malawis once and they just dissappeared after a couple of weeks they never seemed to bother the fish in the way white spot does.
01-07-2005 08:24 by ian	all the black spot ive ever seen is always on malawi/tangs/vic/ i think is is to do with kh/gh.i seen i seams to affect fish that ave been kept in soft water then moved to hard.
