yes eddie parrots in thier natural colour(if thats what you can call them ,because they are hybrids )they are normally green , but they inject them with dye to attract potential fish keepers , they do wash out ,but not normall over 2 weeks, |

the orange ones are natural too, the tend to be green when they are very small, some people say the black spots are stress related some say not, mine change colour all the time, they are perfectly healthy |

he looks happy my parrot.
he is waitng for me in de morning and dont sit quit in a corner.
He is always swimming around.
But the coror is going black.
when i come near the aquarium he comes straight to me like he wil say 'Hello Eddie'.
He is in a jewel vison 260, with 3 angelfish form 2.5", and 3 corydorus 2 of them are 'panda' and the other 1 is a adolfini thes are only baby's, 1 female fighterfish.and 2 smal catfish and a bolivian ram.
Can that stress him out???
Its a same he is so lovely and knows me already after just 2 weeks. Hope that all comes good

yeah of coarse but most orange ones are dyed the orange comes from the red devils , |

They definately have a bit of devil in them! i shouldn't think the stress is coming from his tank mates which are a little incompatible anyway, i should think if it is stress related it's down to the water conditions, do you test your water regularly and keep up with maintenence? As i said one of mine does this all the time and i have no worries with him |

i do every week the water change for min from 30%.
and don't change anything from my setup in the tank because i like the look how it is, and know that fish don't like that you mess around with the stones and plants.
my water is good says the test.
the fish live well together they are all young and swim lot around together in a group.
the parrot is most time around with 1 of the angles, they look like realy good mate's.
I wil do tomorrow a new test from my water, the last time i did it 4 days ago all was good with the water.
Hav only 1 problem at the moment my partner has broken my tester
.
so will buy a new 1 tomorrow and do the test when i come home.
Thnx von an wayne. |

my water temp is 28 graden / 80 farenheid is that to high for the parrot??? and if so is it ok for the other fish to bring it down a bit? |

The temp is fine, if your water quality is good then don't worry, the fish is just changing. I have 7 and one constantly changes, he was almost all black when i got him now just black on the tail and occasionally he goes black on his back and face then it goes again, he is healthy and gets on fine with his tank mates, just think it's down to mood, maybe he's trying to atract a female, although yours is on his own he/she doesn't know a potential mate won't come along at any minute. |

Have you checked your ph?
I've found they get the black pigments more if they are kept in low ph water. |

will check it tomorrow when i have a new test kit |

the black pigments i thought were stress related. I had an orange parrot that would get black pigmentation for a few hours if he was moved tank and also for about 30 mins odd if you rearraged existing tank in any way. This was told to be by the previous owner and i had the same experience. |
