Looking at Kevins other posts, we can see what sort of a fishkeeper he is - and what this tells us about his personality.

i really hope you're not going to put these fish together kevin in some kind of sick experiment. If you do why don't you put your hand in and see which one hurts you the most, that would be a thread everyone would WANT to read

I dont know about not wanting this type of video on the site, why should we also have to put up with this type of pathethic questions from someone who obviously doesnt know the first thing about caring for fish and I very much doubt knows anything about them unless they come in "batter"

There are some very sad people out there and they definately dont belong on here

"no point in this thread i think it should be deleated"

WHY???? , should it not be left to show anyone else who may choose to use this valuable site for such rubbish, that it is not acceptable by the vast majority of genuine people who are still trying to "hang on in there"

webmaster - having thought long and hard about this, I have decided to post this in open forum in order to give all serious members an opportunity to debate, disagree or otherwise.

I have been using this site for what seems a long time now and like to think that along with a lot of other original users, plus an increasing number of genuine new ones, that advise given has been "On Topic" (in most cases), and based entirely on experience and not supposition.

OK there will always be opposing views on any given topiuc, but even these, in the past, used to be interesting on the whole

I have butted into threads before about how the fish side of the forum have degenerated on a lot of occassions and this can be further evidenced by the loss of some valued contributors.

If it wasnt for some, and I refer to Alan in particular and others, old & new, who care for the value this site has to offer, the underlying purpose of this forum would have died a death some time ago.

I can only commend you in your approach in trying to maintain an open forum environment, but even you must admit the frequency you are required to intervene has increased significantly over the past months

I am unsure what "behind the scenes" support you may have but if this is limited, maybe you would consider recruiting some support in the form of moderators.

Before anyone jumps in on this comment, I AM NOT VOLUNTEERING, and to be honest, do not have the time that it may require.

I personally have found another site that caters exactly for my interests, however it doesnt mean that I will willingly give up on this one if genuine advise is sought on a more specialised subject, or a general one that I feel confident in contributing too

I can only hope that something can be done to bring this back to where it started, A FISH FORUM, and I use Caps on purpose to empthasise the fact.

I have just banned kevin for bad language. And yes, it is just me doing the monitoring.

To run an open forum, to some degree it is up to the users to give direction to the content and flow.

Forums do tend to change flavour over the months. I wanted to encourage good natured banter to reinforce the community feel of the website. I intervene as rarely as possible.

There is often excellent high quality advice given and informative answers provided. I am often suprised at the very experienced knowledge base that we have on the forum.

So, it is really up to the forum community to work together and continue to make the forum continue to render assistance to fellow hobbyists, whilst also building friendships from the mutual community.

As always, suggestions and recommendations are invited and appreciated.
