can anyone advise me what equipment i need for keeping discus successfully i currently have a 4ft 250lt tank with eheim 2227 wet and dry filter ....thanks |

thats about it, just food...use a discus forumula eg zm food and use bloodworm etc set temp to 27 0c

Dechlorinated tap water don't f**k about. There only fish there no way near as hard as people make out. All you need is good water, which shouldn't be hard if your a true fish keeper. 27oC is abit low george I keep mine at about 29-31oC. |

Theyre more succeptable to disease when kept at a lower temp. Mine kept getting whitspot until I turned the temp up, no problems now |

Make sure that when you increase your temperature to do it slowly as you could do more harm than good
Try about 2 degrees per week |

Angels are fine at the average temps. In the wild I think discus come from higher temps. |

I'm not sure, all I know is discus like the higher temps. Angels are more adaptable than discus. |

weather you need an RO or HMA (heavy metal axe) depends entirely on how your water comes out from your tap.
Some people don't need it, some need RO and some need HMA or a combination etc...
I use 80% RO and 20% HMA. |
