does any one have any proven methods of getting rid of aiptasia (glass anemones) iv found 2 on my live rock, and i dont want to scrub the rock under hot water as i will lose every thing else on it . |

peppermint shrimps. cleared mine in four weeks and i had loads. |

iv just read up on them and they are not 2 reef safe . may eat small polyps but they will eat pest aiptasia .even if i keep them for a short while then get shot. thanks charliesangles. |

you could have had my forceps fish (yellow long nosed ,swaped it with marky off ur for a couple of frags) |

Coper band butterflies will eat them as will pepermint shrimps as suggested.
Joes juice is also considered really good - you can order it from STM, as well as other shops I assume. |

True peppermint shrimps won't eat polyps there are 2 very similar species that both eat aiptasia sadly one will also munch on polyps get the peppermint shrimps from stm but having said that if you only have 2 nems use joe's juice asap and completely smoother them in it starting with the mouth in the centre. That should deal with it.
Incidentally Copper band butterflies will also munch on polyps sometimes so are not totally reef safe. |
