what set up you got? tropical or marine?

if u are going to be puting the rock in a tropical tank i cant see it having any problems as long as you clean the rock before placing it in the tank.

You have technically broken the law by doing this? Watch out for pollutants.

Firstly we are talking marine so don't boil it for gods sake.

You say you bagged it and shipped it within a day or 2 basically I suspect to a certain extent you have bypassed the die back that happens as a result of shipping but you won't have totally bypassed it unless the rock was shipped in water.

Watch out for an ammonia spike and make surte your skimmer is working over time. Is your tank already live rock based and how big is the set up hopefully your set up will handle it but be prepared for water changes and lots of them hopefully you won't have much of a die back though.

It will be interesting to see what appears on this rock?

Basically consider it uncured live rock or partially cured.
