I hope someone can help us, our Black Moors eye has literally collapsed in on itself, there have been no symtoms we have noticed and all other fish seem well in the tank. He seems to be in no pain but we are very distressed, I hope someone can help, Regards, Colin J
hi black moors and the general fancy goldfish are prone to disease espically black fish , but all of the in general as they are a weak strain of fish originally bred from the common goldfish which in turn was bred from the common carp ,(cyprio sp) generally black moors suffer from white spot and velvet ,its something to do with thier colour it the same with black mollies (tropical fish ) was the eye cloudy first ? could be a parasite got into the eye , it will be fine with one 1 eye , a good thing to add to get a good balance in a fancy goldfish would be a little tonic salt and keep your feeding down to one 1 every 2 - 3 days and vairy thier food , hope this helps
Wayne, thanks for that, I will get some tonic salt this weekend. Such a shame to see the state of him. I didn't notice any clouding but it could have been there as I work away a couple of days a week. Glad he is not in pain, again thanks!!!
