What about a brackish system with that height you could have wood coming out of the surface and watch some archers shooting.also could be interested in the discus.

The size of the tank is good for an small Oscar Fish, a Jack Dempsey, and a Plecostomus Algie Eater medium size same with the Jack Dempsey.

Just ask any pet store about these fish and the should have them. I worn you you will have to get rid of the Oscar preety fast they grow really quickly. I recomend you start small and see how you do with these Types of fish. I have the same ones ecept the Oscar Fish I still have to get one of those. The Oscar Fish are really nice fish to have. I got my in a 30 gallon. So when I get my Oscar Fish I will preety much be full because of how big the Oscars get and how fast they grow. Hope you take my advice. I got this advice from a friend of mine when I first started off and it worked for me. I don't see why it should not work for you too. Have a great day.

What about an African river set up its quite a challenge getting west african species at time.

You could go for a shoal of distichodus affinis or decemmaculatus also chuck in something like the distichodus notospilus I would avoid other distichodus species with a tank the size of yours though the ones I mention max out at a managable size instead of the potential 1 metre or more of some of distichodus. Also perhaps a few Barbus guirali these will be hard to get though.

Could also chuck in an African Garra species perhaps some congo tetras I would avoid labeos they are real sods some look pretty impressive though.

Catfish wise you could chuck just about any syno in but I would hold out for an impressive one such as angelicus or brichardi or flavitaeniatus or ornatipinnis. May also be worth looking out for a chiloglanis or euchilichthys.

Cichlid wise you could go for staetocranus or a small sarotherodon species perhaps Thysochromis ansorgii or perhaps Tilapia joka or you could simply go for a group of Pelvicachromis not the usual pulcher but something like humilis or rolofii.

You could also chuck in an elephant nose or an african knife fish.

It would make a nice change from the perpetual amazonian biotopes thrust upon us by the trade and from the sickeningly dull rift valley cichlids colourful yes but flipping heck they are boring just battering the hell out of each other all day long.

Brackish is a good idea I just wonder if your tank is big enough for scats and monos some scats can hit 40 cms monos top out at about 25 cms and the seba mono at about 20 cms if thats any help to you.

Robert,
The discus are Turks around 5"(3 off) and pigeon blood 3"(3 off)
Sorry got no pics as they are still in the tank and i don't pick it up till Saturday
The idea is to only move the fish once to save the stress
