Hello, We bought a regal tang and has only been in the tank about 36hours. It has lots of white spots on him and im guessing it's white spot and he keeps rubbing himself against the coral! can anyone help with a solution? thank you x |

regals are very succeptable to white spot theis is 99.99% white spot. it is very hard to get rid of without good water quiality and uv1! |

we have good water quiality but no uv1 and i have read that garlic can help? |

Heidi - if you search the Diseases category you should find tips on treating marine whitespot. Its a frequently asked question.
Very few aquatic centres have the facility of quarantine, I cant emphasize enough the importance of quarantine for fishkeepers especially those with complex setups and reef systems. All it takes is one new introduction to bring in disease. All the more reason for buying local bred fish, they are less likely to be carrying disease and are more hardy to our water conditions. have a look at Alan's thread posted 20-04-06 on marine whitespot. |
