If you want to frag a clavularia as in the picture above, you just get a pair of sharp scissors and cut off a piece of the rubber mat type stuff that grows over the rocks, then just fix it to another rock with a rubber band. When it has taken to the rock you just remove the rubber band and hey prsto you have another clavularia for another part of the tank.
If you want to frag acropora or montipora you just break off a piece and stick it to a small piece of rock with superglue or milliput.
If it's a soft coral such as a sarcophyton or pussey coral, cut off a piece and stick a plastic coctail stick through the base, then rubberband the coctail stick down to a piece of rock with the base of the coral in contact with the rock. When it has taken to the rock, just remove the coctail stick.
If you are using superglue, remove the coral to a small container of tank water while you frag, and put it back into the tank once it has cured, so as not to pollute the tank water.

You can see the rubber band holding the clavularia to the piece of rock, you can also see the miliput holding the montipora and acropora to the rock.
Look at the left side of the montipora and see where it id growing over and hiding the miliput.
