does anyone know were i can get crab shells for red leg hermits and i dont want the ones on ebay i want ones that are coraline algae covered like you get from lfs when you buy the crabns

if you live at a fishing town go down to local fishermen n ask em if they can keep hold of some whelks for ya .... boil em up ....eat the whelks n reboil shells to make sure all bits are out .would soak them in ro water for a cple of days to just to make sure

Other than going to the seaside and 'rockpooling' I found a great site in the USA, have a look on: http://cichlidbreeding.com/index.php
they ship worldwide, they're cheap and they've loads of different types and sizes of fantastic shells.
I bought a load for my shelldwellers (Ocellatus Gold & Brevis) and for my Calvus & Compressiceps and they love me for it.
