Unwise a Fronts rqeuire different water parameters, although some will disagree with that.
If the fronts are adults, then be prepared for a lot of aggression, if young, your mbuna may take the chance to have a go |

don't! never ever mix lake tanganekan fish with maiwari, when your frontosa get big they will eat the maiwari. plus frontosa are slow and don't swim much, where as maiwari do, it will seriously stress them out. i should know my uncle has 14 of them! |

yeh, but it takes years for frontosa to get that size, and they are a slow moving fish that wont be able to catch a mbuna. also, fish that grow together, dont usually eat each other. |

Yanton is correct, If you put your Fronts in with a batch of young malawi and they grow together they should be fine, as i have said above i have four of these in with my Mbuna and they live peacefully, and i put the fronts in a while after the Mbuna had been in there!!! |

if your dead set on putting fronts in play it safe and have a tank on standby if things dont workout personally i wouldnt do it for me fronts should be kept as a group of atleased 5.and as for them been slow they only choose to be slow because its in there nature fronts are predators and can move at lightning speed if they have to |

I am afraid the worst thing you can do is put Frontosa in with Malawi mbuna, for several reason.
If they are young then they will have to fight for food from the Mbuna & Mbuna are very territorial and will fight for there own space & food. This can stunt the growth of a very slow growing fish.
Whilst Frontosas may be a large fish they are not that aggressive and although they are a predetor unless the Mbuna in question is very small the Frontosa will lose any encounter. If you are dead set on sharing your Frontosa with some Malawis then i suggest some Peacocks, but they flourish best on there own. |
