Rob... I'm sorry to say that on any modern aquarium (Jewel Like Kells), Will be made with far more advance products than an aquarium which is ten years old, I dont disagree with what you have said but all new products (Glass), Have to have a useable product life of 30 yrs, if the glass expanded at the bottom and shrunk at the top within ten years then the system it has been fixed into would be stressed and effected, I've worked with glass for over 3 yrs and all glass produced these days has Sodium added to give it the hardness and durability it requires, Take your living room window for instance, Double glazed unit, If the glass expanded at the bottom and shrunk at the top it would force the beeds off which hold it in place!!!!
Anyway.... Good look Kel, I hope you manage to take the filter off and you dont have any problems! |

I didn't say anything about the glass expanding, all I commented on was taking the filter out. |

I know Rob, as i said above mate i wasn't denying what you had said was incorrect, You mentoned over time with vertical glass it starts to distort, but on modern aquariums it doesn't, what i said about thermal stress on prev threads is correct, I just didn't want to see Kell ruin her tank! An |
