Nemo....Normal gloss or black board paint has a tendency to crack and will eventually fade...if i was you i would go to a local hobbyist shop and buy "Glass Paint" Or have you thought about filming it, If you look on ebay you'll find lots of colours of film, and it least if you dont like it the film comes off (paint will with paint stripper) but its a messy job!!!
I bought a jet black background from my LFS and when i do a clean out i wipe the glass with a really wet spunge and then slide the background on, Becuase of the wet surface the background will grip without any tape, and it aslo magnifies the colour making it look brighter!!! |

if you want to increase light, with better plant growth etc, then try taping tin foil on the back - it actually looks great and seems to affect fish behaviour, they are puzzled on seeing their reflections. |

we always use blue gloss ON THE OUTSIDE (we had a customer who painted inside!), about 4/5 years before it starts to peel/crack... |
