hi jonie. looks like youve done your research on your fish. the 9 tiger barbs shows that much. you might expect to see numbers windle as they mature and one will get picked on more than the rest. for additions check out the larger gouramis like the opaline or gold gourami. they suit a semi aggressive community tank. |

I dont know about doing the research DB.
Jonie has six of the most agressive Malawi Chiclids in his tank which require entirely different water conditions to his other fish.
I'm assuming they are still small because as adults they attain 5"+ and the dominant male will be all out to kill everything else, including any females, especially if there's not enough hiding places
Jonie - I would suggest you get rid of the Auratus (if you can) and then follow DB's advice for further stocking your tank. |

Jonie - Auratus by thier very nature are extremely territorial and this includes females. If you end up keeping two, that do develop into females (some males remain in female colouration if they are subdominant) you will still have a war unless your tank has a lot of hiding places.
If your considering setting up a Malawi tank, I would still suggest you get shot of these "little blighters", and as Malawis require certain water conditions, you would need to pass on most of your other fish |

jonie - unfortunately Auratus dont like any other fish when they get to adult size, including the females.
You can get away with them in a large tank, but I do mean large |

You will not sell Auratus unless to some poor unsuspecting soul. They breed like rats and no-one wants them |
