when u want and it polishes the water making it look cleaner but if u r treating tank with chemicals u must remove carbon or it will remove treatment.change once every 12weeks or it could be less. |

Lorna
carbon is used to remove chemical elements from your tank .....i believe they only need to be used after medication has been used....i understand that if they are left in the tank for to long then they can leak chem's back into the tank.
i don't use them all the time .... i use the pouch but i think the pad's do the same thing
it realy polishes the water cristal clear.
hope this helps. |

if your not treating your tank with any medication why not put 1 pad in and see the difference........save the other for later

the best is replace the carbon filter every 4 or 5 weeks
when you are to late with replace the filter the will put all the rubbish what is in it back in the tank and that is realy something u realy dont want.
read the manuel from you filter.
or ask it in you LFS.
12 weeks is far to long |

ok well looking in my book it says the eggs hatch in 1 day and the male will look after the babys for a few days
also says male will be agressive towards other tank mates when breeding as he wants to defend his terrirory
