Lorna it will improve the lighting ....as would a mirror over the tank....all light shining up into the hood is not benifiting your tank......
with light tubes being the price they are it would make good sense to get as much light into the tank as poss
confused what is past their best larna? lights or reflectors?
new lights will be brighter !.....
hope this helps

NO. THE REFLECTORS ARE ALL SCRATCHED AND COVED WITH RUBBISH THAT WONT CUM OFF.
THEY ARE VERY DULL. ALLMOST BLACK.
I HAVE TRYED CLEANING THEM BUT THEY ARE RELLY READY TO BE REPLACED. |

Reflectors are a waste of money, Go and get some mirror glass from your local merchant and stick it to the underside of the lid.....thats why i did with an old tank!!! I just had pieces cut into strips and bonded them in....Far better than reflectors and will be half the cost!!!! |

You can get cut mirror glass for roughly £5 per m2, it works out cheaper than reflectors and will last a hell of a lot longer....The reflectors will be annodised metal, so in time they will fade and loose all there reflective properties, Use mirror..... Just be carefull if you get clean cut glass as the edges will be razor sharp....polishing wont be much extra, prob about £4 per linear metre of polish!!! but well worth it!!! |
