24-07-2006 20:38 by Danny Boy	hmm ive not kept balzani. but have kept many geophagus. some can be aggressive but ive found most to be placid. i would think they would make an ideal tank mate. , if not i can certainly recommend deamons or brassiliensis. keep away from red humps though, they are aggressive

25-07-2006 10:02 by PaddyD	I would not reccomend them with apisto's - they probably would not go for them, but the apisto's would not have a chance to maintain a territory. I also would stay away from brasiliensis - in my experience they are more aggressive than red humps, pretty predatory and would destroy the apisto's - after all they grow to 10", there is no way a 2" apisto could hold its own.
25-07-2006 10:04 by PaddyD	Did not see the last bit - balzani will be fine without a cool bit - but I would recommend you dont keep them too hot (about 72 would be good) this moight not be so good with your apistos.
