I would concur with the above the uarus are a no no with Oscars and far to expensive to risk with them. Also the pictus cats I'm assuming you mean pimelodus pictus when the Oscars get to around 8" plus would probably eat the pictus cats.
If you want cichlids in a community tank Oscars aren't ideal the severums however would pose no risk to the pictus cats.
Tank mates for Oscars would be anything of equal size and/or considerably more speed and potentially more robust.
Silver dollars
Tinfoils
Distichodus sexfaciatus or lussoso
I kept the following succesfully but would not recommend it unless you have an absolutely massive tank my tank was grossly over crowded.
2 Oscars both about 9"
2 Severums both about 7"
1 Distichodus lussoso 16"
3 tinfoils all 7"
4 Silver dollars 5" (breeding continually)
3 polypterids (delhezi ornatipinnis and senegalus)
Syno decorus
Syno angelicus
Syno congicus
Hemisynodontis membranaceus
All this was in a 55 gallon tank needless to say they were rehomed.
I also had a Oreochromis mozambique and a Green Terror these 2 didn't sit to well in the set up the green terror used to get beaten up and so did the mozambique tilapia.
I would only attempt all this again in an 8x2x2 full of bog wood.

Before anyone get on my back about this set up I was a kid and kids do stupid things. I also kept the water quality very good with 2 50% water changes a week. The filtration was also rated at about 5 times the tank volume and I never had a disease out break in this set up. There was also a large air pump to increase the surface area considerably and drive off CO2.
The set up actually looked pretty good given the chance I wouldn't mind doing a tank like this again but as I said the tank would have to be much larger. |

I once read from an experianced oscar keeper that you should only keep one oscar and that if you intended to keep more it should be no less than five oscars in the tank, but you would need a very large tank to do this. I used to keep silver sharks with my oscar no probs and parrot fish. I know im swearing to some hobbyists mentioning parrot fish but they do look cool |

I bought 2 oscars together and they were fine for 6months or so, then one day the largest of the 2 started attacking the other one and i had to put it in another tank. Some people get away with it.
If you go into a retailer where there are oscars for sale u will find them mostly in seperated tanks unless they r young |

Don't buy 3, buy pairs or 4, because i had 3 oscars and after about 3 months of living together the smallest one was killed by the other two when they paired off. here is an old picture of the 3 of them. (i apologise about the quality of pic)
