hello there i wonder if some1 can hlp me pls as im new to the big tank game .i just got myself a 4f tank everything seems to be fine but i have come across these white snail type shells floating they r empty no snails r actully in these shells they dont seem to bother the fish but im curious to wat they r and if they r dangerous. in my cold water tank i hold a very mix type of fish i have 4 goldfish, 1 fantail,2 plecos,weather loach,1 koi, and my latest addition r the 3 tiger barbs and a blue lobster all in cold water i read up that they will be fine and so far so good . well if ant1 knows the answer pls let me know thanks . berty

Haven't got a clue what they arte but just to warn you the koi will out grow your tank very quickly and may eat the tiger barbs as well that should really be kept in a tropical tank as they will get chilled in the winter. I would also suspect the koi may harass the fantails. |

The barbs wil also nip the gold fishes fins |

not fair on the barbs they are a tropical fish. as for the snail sheels ive not heard of those before, got any pics? |

yes i agree, barbs are tropical fish, WHAT HAPPENED BERTY? why were you sold barbs to go in with goldfish, it makes NO SENSE |
